Very soon, the Friends of Hershey website will be taken down. Back in August of last year, we would have never imagined the amazing impact this website had on the powers-to-be.
Shortly after putting up this website, I got a call from Jesse Engle of Hershey offering to help. Jesse saved the day as he came to the rescue–my head was barely above the water! Jesse and I spent countless hours working on the website and the online petition.
For about two months, we literally had only 3 or 4 hours of sleep each night. To be sure, it was a wonderful learning experience and a wonderful opportunity to get to know many of the great people in our wonderful town. I want to say a big thank you to Jesse Engle, John Dunn and the countless others who supported the effort to keep this website going at a critical time.
It is fitting, then, that our last news article be the one published by the Patriot News on December 29, 2002. Read on. Best wishes for a happy and healthy 2003!
